BEMERTON Heath Harlequins will be looking to cause a major upset on Monday when they take on Winchester City in the final of the Wessex League Cup.

City, already crowned Wessex League champions, have enjoy-ed a momentous season which will conclude ten days later at Birmingham City's St Andrews' ground where they meet AFC Sudbury in the FA Vase Final.

Steve Slade's side may hope Monday afternoon's opponents arrive at Lymington & New Mil-ton's ground with one eye on their prestigious Vase date, but will know they face an uphill task if they are to emerge triumphant.

"I fully expect them to be focussed on winning the League Cup," said Slade. "They're a quality side with a big squad, but it's a two-horse race and anything can happen."

Winchester scored more than 150 goals en route to claiming the title in their debut season in the Wessex League following their Hampshire Premier Divi-sion triumph a year earlier.

One player Heath will have to watch is prolific striker Andy Forbes who has netted more than 70 times already this season. But Heath also possess their own goal machine in Stuart Findley, whose hat-trick in Saturday's 5-1 demolition of Moneyfields took his own impressive tally past the 40-mark for the campaign.

Slade admits the Western Way outfit have enjoyed mixed fortunes this term, but recent performances provide sufficient grounds to believe they can yet cause a shock.

"The end of the season's come too soon for us," he added. "We're in great form. We've won eight of the last ten games and are scoring goals for fun."

Heath have never won the cup competition in its 17-year history.

"If we're going to win it, we'll have to do it the hard way, but you just never know."

Harlequins' reserves are celebrating after clinching the Wessex Combination League title.
