A LUCKY Swindon grandmother is celebrating a £2.8 million Lottery jackpot win today.

The 58-year-old has two reasons to celebrate today it's also her 37th wedding anniversary.

The identity of the happy winner will be revealed today at a photocall at the De Vere Hotel at Shaw Ridge.

She will crack open the champagne as she begins her new life as a multi-millionaire.

Camelot bosses were keeping tight-lipped about who she is last night and earlier today, confirming only her age, her wedding anniversary and the fact she lives in Swindon.

The exact total of Saturday's Lotto jackpot was £2,825,320.

Three winners shared the £8,475,960 pot.

The machine used was Topaz and the balls, which came from Camelot's second set, were 1, 3, 4, 5, 17, and 37, with 30 as the bonus ball.

Elsewhere in the draw 11 people won £150,636 each for five correct numbers and the bonus ball.

In January last year a woman won £2.5 million on the Lotto.

The Advertiser reported that she was believed to have sent a text message to her bosses telling them she was not going to return to work.

In May 2001 Lottery winner Nigel Gardner-Hale made the headlines for the wrong reasons when he was jailed for a year for holding an all-night drugs party at his luxury home.

He was an officer at RAF Lyneham when he scooped £3.4 million in a draw in January 2000.

He moved to a six-bedroom home in Maesteg, South Wales with his winnings, where he was arrested.

Since the Lotto was launched as the National Lottery in 1994, there have been 11 jackpot winners in the Swindon postcode area.

This ranked Swindon as 74th out of 120 postcode areas in terms of winners.
