SWINDON is one of the top destinations for train passengers booking tickets on line, says First Great Western.
The town, famed for Brunel's Great Western Railway in the 19th century, is ranked in the top 20 when it comes to online ticket sales.
Other popular stations booked via www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk involve travel to or from London Paddington, Cardiff Central and Bristol Temple Meads.
As well as helping to relieve travelling stress, the site has netted First Great Western £1million since its launch seven months ago.
Tim Hayne, the operator's e-commerce manager, said: "Breaking through the £1million barrier shows how popular on-line sales has become in such a short time."
