KNOWING Swindon well is one thing, but when it comes to driving in Swindon, I find that there are a lot of drivers who do not heed the advice of road markings and keeping to the right lanes.

Even though I live outside Swindon I come into it quite regularly and get quite upset and angry when other drivers cut you up, because they are in the wrong lanes and leave it till the last minute to get over. Where this is done a lot is the junction from Thamesdown Drive leading to Cricklade Road which goes past the Groundwell industrial Estate.

There has been many occasions where I have been cut up by other drivers because there are not enough road markings to inform them of the left hand lane that leads to the Park and Ride in Cricklade Road. I don't like laying the blame at other drivers and sometimes believe that if the Swindon council could just take some time to provide the extra road markings to inform the drivers, the 'cutting up' problem might not be so hazardous as it is at times.

I have to travel to Oxford with my disabled son and we never encounter problems like these as the roads are always so clearly marked near the Park and Ride, in fact, road markings occur from roundabouts well down from the Park and Rides.

Is it possible that Swindon council could consider doing this before there are some really bad accidents? At the moment it is just pure luck that drivers are narrowly missing one another.

However, with more drivers on the road than ever before, it is not going to be long before someone is going to be badly hurt, even maybe killed, and I would not wish for that to happen to me, or more especially my son, who means the world to me.
