AMANDA MURDER INQUIRY: AMANDA Edward's boyfriend David Board has remained too upset to talk to the media since the 21-year-old nursery nurse disappeared after dropping him at home on April 8.

Mr Board's father Eddie, who owns a plastering company in Calne, said his son was devastated and was now trying to prepare himself for her funeral.

Meanwhile, a friend of David Board, 19, described the obvious sadness etched on his face, when he saw him a few days after Amanda's body was discovered.

"David looked sad. I offered my sympathies, but he quickly changed the subject," said the friend.

"David was never the centre of attention on a night out, but was very friendly and enjoyed going out with his pals.

"He was shocked by the media attention when Amanda went missing.

"He had to change his car because he was being followed by photographers and still has not had his mobile telephone returned to him by the police."

Miss Edwards had been going out with Mr Board for around a year.

The couple had left Miss Edwards' home in Purton on the morning of April 8, stopping at the village convenience store, before making their way to Bremhill, where Mr Board lives with his family.

That was the last time he saw his girlfriend alive.
