VOLUNTEERS are needed to help with this year's Sherston Boules and Carnival on July 17. Each year hundreds of people flock to the small village near Malmesbury for what has become the biggest single-day boules tournament in Britain.
This year's tournament is a very special celebration as the village marks 100 years of the entente cordiale between Britain and France.
Committee member Irene Johnston said: "There will be masses of things to do: craft, plant, food and other market stalls, cafes, barbecues, bars, jazz and children's entertainment.
"It is a great day out for the whole family."
Around 128 teams are expected to take part in the tournament including two French sides from Malmesbury's twin town Gien, just south of Paris.
They will compete in a series of friendly but very competitive knockout matches for the prestigious Sherston Cup and plate.
Anyone who can help for at least an hour on the day should contact Irene Johnston on (01666) 841273 or at irenejohnston@livewirecomms.co.uk.
