12902/1THE entente cordial extended to Malmesbury last week with the visit of French police officer Jean-Luc Garnier.
Parisian M Garnier was visiting local bobbies as part of an exchange scheme with the International Police Association.
Last Monday, Malmesbury section officer Richard Warren on his BMW motorbike escorted M Garnier and his wife and two children from Dover to his home in Hullavington .
Mr Warren, 59, who is a voluntary special constable said: "It has been good fun.
"I was with Jean-Luc under the Eiffel Tower the last time we met and he took me home through Paris. It was a hair raising experience and I thought I would return the favour."
Mr Warren, a computing engineer by day, has travelled to many countries under the scheme including the USA and Malaysia.
