SPEED camera bosses are undeterred by vandals who defaced signs warning drivers that mobile speed cameras operate in the area.
Numerous signs on the A361 between Devizes and Avebury and on the A4 near Marlborough were sprayed with red paint earlier this month.
Some signs have been sprayed over leaving just the word 'speed' visible while on others crosses have been sprayed on.
David Frampton, manager of the Wiltshire and Swindon Safety Camera Partnership, condemned those responsible for the vandalism.
He said: "I am disappointed that someone took it upon themselves to damage the signs and when information comes to light as to who is responsible they will be prosecuted for criminal damage. Enforcement will not be interrupted by this criminal act.
"The signs will be repaired or replaced and the cost will be met from fines, not by the local taxpayer.
"The signs are there to advise drivers that enforcement of speed limits on this route is likely with the use of mobile camera vehicles.
"The signs are advisory and their purpose is to encourage drivers to comply with the speed limit."
