GAZETTE & HERALD: BABYSITTER Ian Sealy, who indecently assaulted a 16-year-old girl has walked free from court.
Sealy, 27, of Foreman Street, Calne, admitted indecent assault and common assault at Swindon Crown Court on Friday. Richard Thomas, prosecuting, said Sealy was babysitting while his victim's parents were working a night shift in early July last year. He said Sealy indecently assaulted the girl in her bed.
Mr Thomas last October Sealy was arrested for assaulting the same girl. He slapped the teenager, leaving her with a bloody nose and a bruised jaw. The girl's mother reported Sealy to the police and he admitted both offences.
Judge John McNaught said: "I candidly that I thought when I read the papers first of all that this deserved a prison sentence.''
Instead he said the public would be best served by a three-years probation and Sealy completing the Thames Valley sex offenders' programme.
