A CARD designed by six-year-old Swindon schoolgirl Naomi Foster will be going on sale across the country next Christmas to raise funds for a children's cancer charity.

Naomi was among youngsters at Lethbridge School, in Old Town, set the task of coming up with a design in a competition run by Clic Cancer And Leukaemia In Childhood.

Naomi's snowman card will be sold in the charity's 25 shops, via mail order and at special events all around the country.

Swindon Town midfielder Stefani Miglioranzi was on hand to present her with her prize, which included toys and days out at the Oasis centre and Cotswold Wildlife Park.

"I hope her Christmas card will go a long way to raising money for such a worthy cause," he said.

Headteacher Ray Norman said the competition had raised awareness of the charity among the children and they had been very enthusiastic about it.

"It is nice that one of our children has done something that is going to go on sale nationally," he said.

Clic's head of retail, Jeremy Lune, added: "Lethbridge School is full of talented young artists and it was a very difficult decision to choose an overall winner. However Naomi's design stood out in the end."

The charity currently funds a play specialist at the Great Western Hospital.
