FOR seven years past I have been searching for a photograph of the man who was vicar of Wilsford for nearly 40 years at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The Rev William Wrixon Keating MA was born in County Cork in 1846 and was granted the living of St Nicholas's in 1881. He retired in 1919, died in Poole in December 1922 and was buried at Wilsford on the 15th of that month.
If anyone has a photograph of Mr Keating, or any clergyman they think could be him (or indeed any other information) then I should be very pleased to hear from them.
Keating might be recognised in an unnamed photograph as he was described as being tall, with long hair and a beard.
I may be contacted at Magpies Cottage, Haxton, Wiltshire SP4 9PP, by telephone or fax (01980) 670442 or by email at glynjones10@ ukonline.co.uk
