CHIPPENHAM Town's newest recruit is aiming to bring a bit of 'glitz and glamour' to Hardenhuish as she bids to generate some much needed income.
Lauren McKell, 35, was appointed this week as part time sales executive for the Bluebirds as they aim to increase the club's revenue.
She will be assisted by Derek Hooper, who has just resigned as a director, and they have already started coming up with fund raising ideas.
McKell has a strong background in sales and will be developing and marketing the club's commercial opportunities.
She has been living in Chippenham for almost two years and is relishing the opportunity.
She said: "I have always been involved in sales. I did a similar job at a theatre in Southampton before I moved here.
"It is a great opportunity for me and the ideas we have already come up with are fantastic. I have a great team to work with.
"There is a lot of potential here and I want to be working with local businesses and trying to get the club working as more of a community."
She is a big football fan and said it was previous visits to Hardenhuish that persuaded her the job was right.
She said: "I have always liked football and every time I have been to watch Chippenham it has been really good.
"The ground is great and the atmosphere persuaded me I had to reply to the advert for the position.
"If I can bring a bit more glitz and glamour to the sponsorship side of things then I am sure I can help improve the revenue of the club.
"I am looking to introduce a lot more fund raising ideas and generally just attract a lot more money our way."
Hooper believes the appointment of McKell is a step forward for the club and is confident together they can help raise Chippenham's profile.
He said: "She has already had a lot of good ideas and I am very excited about working with her.
"I am confident we can get something like £100,000 into the club in the next year.
"Lauren is one of the best you can get and she has already proved to me she knows exactly what she is doing."
Club secretary Chris Blake was also delighted with the appointment.
He said: "It was something we desperately needed. We need some other sources of revenue and hopefully Lauren will be able to do this."
