28186/4VEHICLES of all shapes and sizes attracted record crowds to Westbury on Sunday. The annual Vehicle Extra-vaganza held at Meadow Lane has been hailed as the biggest and most successful in nine years.

Military vehicles, fire engines and 70-year-old motorbikes were on show and exhibitors travelled from as far away as London and Devon.

Keith Miller, committee chairman, said: "The wonderful weather was a factor in attracting so many people but this event has literally got something for everybody.

"We had over 1,000 people come to see the vehicles and it was so packed by the end there wasn't a spare patch of grass to put any more vehicles on."

A raffle raised £100 for Char-lotte's Chance of Life Fund, which is backed by the Wiltshire Times.
