STUDENTS at a Melksham school got to experience a day in the life of their parents.
Over 180 youngsters from years 12 and 13 at The George Ward School spent a day at their parents' workplace as a part of Take Your Child to Work Day.
The idea came from Year 8 head Darren Gale, who had heard of the scheme from an American friend.
Mr Gale said: "I was delighted with the response from the community and the enthusiasm the children showed. The children I have spoken to about it were thrilled with their experience.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and local businesses and industry for the part they played in ensuring that the pupils had a memorable and valuable experience."
As many children as possible in the year groups involved took part in the scheme. Pupils who were not able to arrange a day at work worked on the current Year 8 theme of Together Everyone Achieves More and followed a day of activities, which included a Ready Steady Cook challenge.
