I write in reply to the letter from Graham Hedley (Wiltshire Times April 23) concerning the closure of the Brook Road Post Office.
Yet again it appears that a big national company can come into a town and dictate to the local people. We need our local post offices.
They are needed by the infirm, elderly, mothers, everyone; they are part of the local fabric of the community.
They are local to the community; they provide a much needed service to us, the people of the local area.
Why should we let this sort of thing happen to our town? What's next, Trowbridge renamed to Tescoville.
We as consumers can dictate to these big national companies. Without us, the consumer, a supplier has nothing to supply and will eventually go out of business.
In Trowbridge there are other supermarkets and one of these does support the local community and its post offices the good old Co-op.
So why not support a supermarket chain that supports us and not anonymous share holders.
Throughout the country there are 38 post offices under threat from Big Boy Tesco. Support your local post office. Get writing or even better try another supermarket!
