LIBRARIES in west Wiltshire are helping people get involved in the way health services in the county are provided.

Displays at libraries in Trowbridge, Bradford on Avon, Melksham, Warminster and Westbury are providing information about the Patient Advice and Liaison Service and the Independent Complaints Advocacy Service.

Community librarian Richard Violet said: "We all tend to either praise or complain about our health services but perhaps feel we have no control over what is happening.

"These displays aim to show customers that they can have a say and that help is available for them to make their points and make a difference."

The initiative is part of Wiltshire County Council's aim to provide libraries that are about more than books.

Wiltshire libraries provide access to a wide range of information through a variety of resources including displays such as these, as well as books, public access computers and events.

The displays are entitled Getting Involved and will be showing in libraries until the end of May.
