LEAGUE giants Broughton Gifford and North Bradley Saints are poised to make their mark again as the season enters its final week.

Victory in last night's A and B Cup final would land Gifford their third trophy, leaving Stuart Irons' outfit three points away from recapturing the Division One crown after a two-year absence.

A win tomorrow over former champions Frome Town Sports would mean a trip to relegated Dynamo West End next Thursday seeing them collect all four pieces of silverware

A clean sweep has never been achieved, the only team to come close was 20 years ago when Hilperton United were Division One champions, holders of three league cups but failed at the final hurdle in their Wiltshire Junior Cup, when they missed a second half penalty against Old Manor from Salisbury.

Nineteen wins from 19 league games confirmed Saints as Division Two champions on Tuesday, a year after winning the Division Three crown.

Broughton Gifford Reserves did their best to spoil the celebrations, Matt Cook striking twice after a third minute Ben Gardener opener for Saints. Brent Murden levelled before Richard Bliha put Saints 3-2 up at the interval. Bliha delivered a late match winner for a 4-3 triumph.

By winning their remaining three matches Saints will also write themselves into league history by becoming one if not the first champions to win all their league games.

Rudloe's chances of finishing runners-up to Gifford were greatly improved when two goals in each half from Tim Jefferies, including a penalty, and Simon Gray plus one from Matt Dancey earned them swift revenge for a 7-2 home defeat by Castle Combe five days before. Jamie Winks, James Pope (penalty) and Leyton Brown replied for Combe.

A second half brace from Leigh Stevenson, after John Hubbard's penalty had been wiped out by a Mike Payne spot kick, gave Gifford a 3-1 win at The Deverills.

It made it 28 games unbeaten for Gifford. Kirk Lathem's four goals and singles from Ben Derrick and Stuart Luke sent Dynamo West End straight back to Division Two in a 6-1 reverse, Nigel Newell replying.

Dursley Arms look safe from a second successive drop thanks to a first win in five months on Tuesday at Westbury United A. Mark Thompson netted the winner to leave Steeple Ashton requiring a point in their last match against champions Saints to avoid the drop.

At the top, another win for Trowbridge United should be sufficient for promotion as runners-up following a thrilling 4-3 victory at Warminster Town Reserves. Two goals from Guy Rowley, including a penalty, Lee Hayward and Adrian Barnes wiped out replies from Jason Greatley, Dave Jessup and Dave Watkins.

In a bad tempered fourth meeting of the season, Bradford United clinched third place and a possible promotion spot with a 4-0 win over Hilperton United who had to win to stay in contention. George Maguire, Alex Edwards, Steve Bryant and John Williams scored for Bradford.

Relegated Lavington and Easterton played far better than the 7-1 defeat would suggest against Westbury United A. Matt Fry and Sam Godding scored hat-tricks and Sam Tucker a single.

Newcomers FC Northbridge will be hoping the league again promotes the third place team in Division Three after securing that position following Dilton Marsh's 1-1 midweek draw against Semington Magpies.

Rob Mitchell equalised in the 88th minute after 10-men Dilton Gary Moore receiving early marching orders had gone ahead through Dave Cooper in the 46th minute.

Dilton's home game against Rowde Sports on Saturday failed to go ahead after Melksham referee James Robbins became the third official this year to refuse to start a Division Three match because of no pitch markings.

Bradford United Reserves made it difficult but finally could not prevent Seend United Reserves from becoming the first champions of the season.

Seend, needing a point to win the title outright, had to wait until eight minutes from half-time to go in front through a cracking shot from first team boss Barry Holloway who then forced an own goal from Mark Tyler. Chris Bishop headed a third in the

3-0 triumph.

Evergreen Nick Bush twice erased a deficit for The Stiffs as they held local rivals Apetito to a 2-2 draw, Nigel Penelhum and Alan House scoring in the first half.

Hilperton United Reserves, having retained the wooden spoon, ended their campaign as they had started by winning. Dan Mercer (2), an own goal and Steve Lewin set up a 4-1 victory over Frome Town Sports A. Andy Mitchell replied with a late penalty.
