MATCH days at Hardenhuish are a family affair for the Anteneys as they all chip in to give their support to the Bluebirds.

Phil and Ali Anteney became involved with the club when they merged with Chippenham Town Youth eight years ago along with their two sons, Ben and Sam.

Mrs Anteney, 37, holds a variety of roles at the club. She is the referee's secretary, the tea lady and also looks after the visiting officials. She also runs her own printing business.

She said: "I usually get to the ground at about 11.45am and leave about 6pm. When the officials come to the ground I have to make sure they are ok.

"I also have to check the bookings with the FA to make sure we get a referee turning up for the game.

"I really enjoy doing it all and if I didn't I would not do it. It keeps me busy but I don't mind. I definitely think it is worth it."

Mr Anteney, 38, is a steward at the ground and works next to the players tunnel to make sure everything is clear there. Outside of football he is a service engineer.

He used to be chairman of Chippenham youth and along with his wife was invited to get involved with the first team by secretary Chris Blake.

Their two sons Ben, 12, and Sam, 15, attend Hardenhuish school and have been involved with football in Chippenham all of their life.

Ben, who plays for Chippenham under 12s, is a ball boy on matchdays.

Sam used to be a ball boy but now feels he is too old for that but still helps out around the ground in any way he can.

The family lead a busy life away from football but Mrs Anteney inisists they would not swap their involvement at Hardenhuish for the world.

She said: "We all love football and really enjoy being involved so heavily with it here at Chippenham.

"It is good we are all involved in it because it has become a bit of a family affair.

"Now it is near the end of the season it is all getting a bit nervy because we know we have to win tomorrow and hope for other teams to lose but it is very exciting."
