28168HISTORY students at a school in Bradford on Avon have been recreating the past.
The Year 9 pupils at St Laurence School recreated the trenches of the First World War in their own way during the Easter holidays.
It was to mark the end of a term of history work looking at what life was like for soldiers in the First World War.
History teacher Gareth Butcher said: "I gave them a free rein to make a trench however they wanted. I have been blown away by the different designs and how creative the children have been."
Pupils Ashleigh King, Tessa Foster, Hannah Whittock and Georgie Stratton designed their trench as a cake.
Another pupil wrote a programme for a videogame and presented Mr Butcher with an animated tour of a trench via a computer screen, while other pupils teamed up to make a video as they dug a trench in their garden.
