EX-PUPILS of a former all-girls school in Trowbridge planted a tree in memory of a geography teacher who died last year.
Former pupils of the Nelson Haden Girls' School, on the site of the present-day Clarendon School, unveiled the tree dedicated to former teacher Dorrien Read on April 2, with the help of his daughter.
Organised by former pupil Jill Lines, the ceremony coincided with the first anniversary of Mr Read's funeral.
Mr Read was a teacher at the school from 1949 to 1954.
He returned to the Clarendon School years later to help present awards at a prize-giving ceremony.
Teacher Dave Bullock said: "The former pupils decided because they liked him and were grateful to him for everything he had done they wanted to remember him in some way."
