A couple of cracking cup finals are in prospect this weekend with Bradford Town facing Wilts Senior Cup winners Trowbridge Town in the final of the Corsham Print Senior Cup (ko 2pm), writes RAY BURROUGHS.
Blunsdon United and Ferndale Rodbourne then contest the Fountain Trophies Junior Cup final at 5pm both ties taking place on Corsham Town's ground.
The Trowbridge squad have been kept busy in recent weeks and following their Senior Cup victory over Corsham on Tuesday, they were in action again the following evening beating Malmesbury Vics 3-0 to draw level on points with AFC Stratton at the top of the Premier Division table.
Bradford Town have not had such a hectic programme and will be flat out to prove to their rivals that they too are capable of collecting some silverware.
The Trowbridge defence will be well aware that the Bradford strikeforce led by the prolific Tom Pang are the Premier Division's highest scorers and will need to keep them quiet if they are to lift their second cup in a week.
It could well be a close tussle in the Fountain Trophies Junior final with both Blunsdon United and Ferndale Rodbourne both enjoying good seasons.
Ferndale were beaten in the Wilts Junior Cup semi finals and will be looking to make amends by becoming the holders in this competition.
Secretary Stuart Morgan said his club will be at full strength for the occasion.
He said: "It will be a tight game but Terry Bown and Arran Hellawell have been scoring plenty of goals for us in recent games and hopefully they can keep it going on Saturday.
"Result apart, it will be a good day out for both sides and it should be an enjoyable game."
Mark Gunter, who runs the Blunsdon side jointly with Mark Lowrie also reported his side will be at full strength and said: "Blunsdon have not won a trophy for a very long time and the lads will be flat out to put that matter right.
"Ferndale beat us 2-1 in the league earlier in the season and we felt we should have fared much better that day.
"Hopefully we will come out on top this time, everyone connected with the club are looking forward to the final.
"We have had a good season and to lift the cup would be the icing on the cake."
Chiseldon Castrol are in action in the Premier Division with a tough-looking home fixture against Biddestone while Cricklade Town travel to bottom club Pewsey Vale.
Trowbridge Town Reserves became Junior Division One champions in midweek following their 3-0 win over Blunsdon United but the runners up spot has still to be decided between Ferndale Rodbourne and Bromham who both have a game to play.
Bromham take on Calne Town Reserves in their last game and, with a better goal difference, a win would see them to runners up spot.
Trowbridge Reserves at home to Wanborough United and Aldbourne Reserves take on West Side.
