SWINDON Council tenants can now pay their rent online using a debit card any time of the day.

The borough council hopes the move will benefit housebound tenants and those with limited mobility who find it difficult to visit their post office or the council offices.

As well as paying the rent, people who log on to the site at www.swindon.gov.uk, can also order statements. Payments can still be made on the telephone during office house.
