30179-45SWINDON CANCER APPEAL: FOUR women jumped off a tall building in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Karen Wilson, Sue Bickerstaff, Donna Romain and Nickie Daly, all braved a 100ft abseil from the top of the W H Smith building in Greenbridge. Between them hey have raised around £1,500 in sponsorship and their employer, Thames Water, will match the amount they do raise.
All four have known people who have suffered from cancer, and they wanted to help the £600,000 Swindon Cancer Appeal, which is being run by the Evening Advertiser.
Sue, 45, a technical advisor, is scared of heights but said that the abseil was worth it.
"I was very scared. The worst bit was going over the edge. It was raining so I slipped. But it was fine once I started."
