Budding actors are being sought to star in a student movie to be shot in Swindon this month.

The Wedding is a comedy that tells the story of two provincial mobile DJs and their efforts to sabotage each other's gigs as they compete for a prized wedding party booking.

Director Tony Niester, a 31-year-old student from Old Walcot, has promised the 10-minute film will be packed with jokes.

He is making the movie as part of his Moving Image degree at Reading University.

The producers are looking for aspiring movie stars to audition for parts at Swindon Arts Centre on Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm.

Three of the main parts have already been cast but there is still a wide range of roles up for grabs for both males and females. The characters range from a seven-year-old boy called Dwayne to Tony's father, aged 60.

It is hoped the film will eventually be shown in Swindon, and Tony is also planning to send it off to film festivals.

The film is to be shot on mini digital video from Tuesday May 11 to Friday May 14 at locations around the town, including Westlea and sheltered accommodation in Park North, where residents have apparently agreed to be extras in one scene.

The shooting schedule is flexible and Tony said some of the parts would require only half a day's commitment.

"We're trying to get as many people involved as possible and they don't have to have acting experience," said the former Swindon College student.

Anyone who fancies their chances in front of the camera should call Tony on 01793 324813 or John Rogers on 07763 142206.
