John O'Meara's Biddestone Social side became the third side in the league this season to complete a league and cup double.

Two late goals saw them come from behind to beat Hullavington 2-1 in the final of the Subsidiary Cup and follow in the footsteps of both Sherston Town and Corsham Centre.

Having secured the first division title two weeks ago, Biddestone started as favourites to lift more silverware, but the expected goal glut never happened.

In a match that never really got going it was Hullavington who had the better of the early chances, but they were unable to make a breakthrough.

With the game desperately needing a goal it was Hullavington's Craig Samuels who duly obliged in the 37th minute when he volleyed home Louis Slater's long throw.

Samuels had the chance to double Hullavington's advantage just before the break, but having broken clear of Biddestone's defence he scuffed his final effort wide of the target with just the keeper to beat.

Hullavington started the second half as they had finished the first period and after good build-up play the ball found Darren Legg, whose thunderbolt from 25 yards fizzed past the upright in the 50th minute.

This seemed to wake Biddestone up and Hullavington were saved by the woodwork when Matt Pratley's shot skimmed off the bar on 60 minutes.

Biddestone hit the bar again 15 minutes later through John Lock, whose deep cross bounced on top of the frame.

With time running out the final looked to be one game too many for Biddestone, and their chances of success looked to be ebbing away.

But up popped Paul Poiner to head them level in the 83rd minute and three minutes later Biddestone's man of the moment Pratley was on hand to drill home the winner from six yards after Poiner's initial effort had been well saved by keeper Elliott.

Hullavington threw everything forward looking for a goal that would have taken the game to extra time but Biddestone were able to see out the final few minutes and hang on.

League fixture secretary Andy Hillier presented the finalists with their trophies and winning captain Rob Strange lifted the cup.

After the Subsidiary Cup presentations Biddestone were also presented with the Division One winners trophy.
