Under 13 League champions Westlea Wanderers, winners of the County Cup in midweek, now have a treble in sight after reaching the final of the Subsidiary Cup.

In their semi-final with Croft Juniors, Croft could have been two up within the first five minutes of the game, Dan Franklin and Tony O' Connell both going close with good efforts.

Then Westlea's prolific scorer Stuart Hillis did the damage once again with a well-taken goal to give the visitors the lead.

Tom McCulloch scored another soon after, and then Hillis raced through again to make it 3-0 at the break.

Croft had nothing to lose and threw everything into attack after the break and were unlucky when Callum Finngan could have scored after 30 seconds of the second half and then Jose Knight's cross could have been turned in for another goal chance.

Westlea added to their tally through Manni Randhawa, before Croft replied with a great goal by Franklin.

The strong Westlea team scored another two goals late on, through McCulloch and Randhawa, to run out worthy winners.

In the final they will meet Brunel Boys who defeated Highworth Juniors in a hard-fought game at Greenbridge.

Brunel went behind in the opening minute of the match, but got back on level terms through a Dane Tregoning penalty. This remained the score at the break.

In the second period Wade Dixon raced clear of the Highworth defence to put Brunel 2-1 up, but Highworth equalised direct from a corner.

With extra time looming a long ball over the top was misjudged by Highworth keeper Marcus Lewis and he handled outside his box.

From the resulting free kick Dane Tregoning blasted the ball past the Highworth wall and Lewis to give Brunel a 3-2 lead.

There was still time for Highworth to have a couple of chances at the other end, two free kicks from the edge of the box going just over the bar.

The final is scheduled for the weekend of May 15/16 at Supermarine.

League honours at this age group were decided some time ago with Westlea Division One champions and Highworth Juniors runners-up.

In Division Two, Shaw and Fairford need to play-off for the title and this match is likely to be played over the same weekend as the Subsidiary Cup, unless the two teams can agree an earlier date.

Under 16

The Under 16 league title is the only other still to be decided. The match tonight between Shaw A and Liden Community at Chestnut Springs could decide who is crowned champions.

A win for Shaw A would see them outright winners, or it will go to the final games next Sunday, with the possibility of a play-off.

The two sides could also meet in the Subsidiary Cup Final.

Liden made it safely into the final after a 2-0 home win over Stratton Juniors, Matty Lofts and Eddie Wilson the scorers.

They will meet either Shaw A or Shaw B who play their delayed semi-final this Thursday.

Under 15

Stratton Juniors wrapped up the league title sometime ago and finish the season with a 100 per cent league record.

Having also lifted the league knockout cup and County Cup, they will be looking for a remarkable quadruple by lifting the Subsidiary Cup.

Their semi-final match against Wootton Bassett Town is now scheduled for next Sunday.

The other semi-final sees league runners-up Liden Community meet Shaw, this game being scheduled for tonight.

Under 14

Westbrook, having already done the league and cup double, are another side with a treble in their sights.

On Sunday they met Croft Juniors in the Subsidiary Cup quarter-finals and trailed 2-1 with just 15 minutes left to goals from Josh Goldsworthy and Robert Warensjo.

However, three late strikes saw them through to a semi-final showdown with league runners-up Greenmeadow.

This game along with the other semi-final between Ferndale Rodbourne and Stratton Juniors will take place this Thursday.

Ferndale earned their semi-final place after a 5-3 win at Walcot Wanderers. Steve Green was the star of the show with four goals, Adam Drury adding a fifth. Zig Wardale (2) and Nick Mitchell were the Walcot scorers.

Under 12 DivISION 1

With runners-up spot already confirmed following Ferndale Rodbourne's 4-3 win over Old Town United Colts on Tuesday, Lydiard Youth could afford to drop points on Thursday, going down 3-2 at home to Old Town United Colts who now look as though they will finish third.

Ferndale's scorers in their win over Old Town were Aaron Selby (2), Nathan Gambling and Dan Drewitt.

Amesbury Sports are champions having also lifted the knockout cup.

Under 12 DivISION 2

With Wroughton and Old Town United Cubs already crowned champions and runners-up respectively, there was an eight-goal mid-table thriller at Ferndale Rodbourne between the Tigers and Blunsdon Colts.

Under 10 North

Double winners Highworth Juniors ended their season with an impressive 4-1 home win over nearest rivals Blunsdon Colts.

In an excellent game, the difference between the two teams was the prolific Joe Chapman, who helped himself to all four Highworth goals. Eliot Wheatley scored the consolation for Blunsdon.

Blunsdon now have to sit and wait to see if they will be runners-up. If Purton defeat Fairford in their final match they will force a play-off with Blunsdon for the runners-up trophies.

Blunsdon had won 3-2 at home in the week against Shrivenham & Watchfield.

Under 10 West

Champions Ferndale Rodbourne Pumas finished off the season with an impressive 4-1 away win at nearest rivals Wroughton, Nicholas Reens scoring for Wroughton.

This was an expensive defeat for Wroughton as it denied them runners-up spot.

This will now go to the winner of a play-off between FC Abbey Meads and Ramsbury, the two sides finishing level on 37 points, 10 behind Ferndale.

In midweek Ramsbury had a 1-0 win over Wootton Bassett Town, Jamie Pickford getting the solitary goal.

In midweek they had held champions Swindon Soccer Skills to a 1-1 draw, Michael Birkenshaw getting the goal for Ferndale.

Earlier in the week a hat-trick from Jack Allen plus further strikes from Liam Gallagher and Jake Johns had seen Ferndale defeat Eastville Boys 5-1.
