THE Highworth and District Lions Club would like to thank the Tesco Charity Trust for the donation of £500 made when the new Tesco Express Store in Newburgh Place, Highworth, opened recently.
This money will go towards the Message in a Bottle campaign Lions Clubs in Wiltshire are in the process of providing canisters to the elderly and vulnerable in which they can provide details of next of kin, medication and other details, which are stored in their fridge in case of an emergency.
The presence of the canister is indicated by a sticker inside the front door and on the fridge.
All Emergency Services are aware of the scheme and approve of it. Canisters are currently available in the Co-op Supermarket in Highworth and will eventually be placed at other locations throughout the county. Further information can be obtained from the co-ordinator, Lion Frieda Cox on 01793 763237.
