Ref. 30783-130SWINDON firms showed their caring side this weekend as they took part in the annual Race for Life.
A record 3,000 women converged in Lydiard Park for the event, which aims to raise £200,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Amy Bentley, 22, joined 20 colleagues from IMSM the Swindon-based provider of management systems - for the five-kilometre run.
Miss Bentley, who chalked up an impressive time of 29 minutes and four seconds, said: "It was hard work but well worth it. It was very warm but everyone in our team completed the run in under one hour."
Alison Keylock, accounts manager, revealed how the runners were spurred into action.
She said: "This is something that is close to our hearts. Two colleagues have suffered from breast cancer. Fortunately they are both doing well, thanks to the excellent care they have received."
Meanwhile, 15 women from Lemon and Co Solicitors, based in Regent Circus, also took part.
Legal secretary Debbie Scott, was one of them.
She said: "This was an extremely important event. Most of us took part in last year's race too and we need to boost its awareness.
"Although there was a serious side to it, it was a great day and very enjoyable."
