Swindon Supermarine hosted their annual six-a-side tournament at Hunts Copse on Saturday and one of the host teams duly took the honours.
Thanks to a maximum attendance of 32 teams and good weather the event proved a huge success, with Marine's C team clinching the title.
The competition attracted a large crowd consisting of a who's who of local football.
Among the spectators enjoying the sun and the sixes was Swindon Town star Matt Heywood.
Also present was Marine manager Mark Collier who was able to keep a watchful eye on his players who were involved in the day's events.
In the pick of the early round games Supermarine A overawed their opponents BSB 6-0 thanks to a master class in finishing from Cirencester Town striker Scott Griffin who bagged all six goals.
Transtaff also netted themselves a 6-0 victory over the Red Lion, with Steve Bunting and John Magani amongst the goals.
Quick to emerge as tournament favourites were Pirates who were undefeated in the group stages with seven wins.
Pirates dually won Group B with Supermarine A finishing runners up.
In fact there were three Supermarine teams among the quarter finalists, with Marine's fourth team missing out on a last-eight place by just one point despite not losing a single game.
All the quarter final games proved to be tight encounters.
Both Supermarine A and C recorded wins thanks to golden goals over their respective opponents Drybrook and Transtaff.
In the other two games Pirates continued their surge towards the final with a 1-0 victory over Supermarine Veterans while FC Wallace knocked out Moonrakers by the same score.
This set up a semi-final clash between the unbeaten Pirates and the equally impressive Supermarine A.
Pirates booked their place in the final with a 1-0 victory, which extended their unbeaten run to nine games.
Supermarine C needed the lottery of penalties to see them safely past FC Wallace and into the showpiece.
The final was a surprisingly one-sided game considering Pirates' unbeaten route to the last two as Marine's third string coasted to victory.
Ben Parsons netted first for Marine but Dave Gee stole the show with two goals including a moment of magic when he volleyed past Pirates keeper Ian Gill from his own half to record a convincing 3-0 final triumph.
During Saturday's tournament Supermarine goalkeeper Tom King took time out from playing to be presented with his Road Runners player of the season award for his outstanding performances during the Dr Martens League campaign.
Road Runners managing director Mike McCartney was on hand to present King with his award, topping off a fine first season at the South Marston club.
