Swindon Volunteers has been renamed Volunteer Centre Swindon and people were out in force to highlight the occasion.
A range of events took place in Swindon last week to celebrate National Volunteers' Week, including the completion of a colourful mural outside the centre's office in John Street.
Swindon's MPs Julia Drown and Michael Wills visited two community groups yesterday the Welcome Centre and Twigs, Therapeutic Work In Gardening in Swindon to see the positive effect that volunteering initiatives are having on disadvantaged people in the Swindon area.
Volunteers' manager Sarah Codd, said: "We believe that employee volunteering brings enormous benefit to companies, employees and the community.
"We help match people up with the sort of volunteering they are interested in and are currently working with 130 organisations in Swindon, including Age Concern, Home Start and the National Trust."
