SKATE-park campaigners are to lobby Highworth town councillors tonight.
The Highworth Sk8ers want the council to back plans to build a park on the Rec.
Several sites have recently been assessed with the help of professional skate park company GBH.
The favoured site to emerge is a spot by the youth shelter near Highworth Golf Centre.
Various criteria were taken into account, including the impact on neighbours.
Four sites came under the spotlight three on the Rec and one at Crane Furlong.
Claire Titcombe, treasurer of the skate group, said: "We think a site near the youth shelter would be best as it is open, which would mean police can keep an eye on it.
"It is also near first aid and toilet facilities at the Rec.
"We want the town council to back it so we can take the plans to Swindon Council, which owns the land, and get planning permission."
Highworth youngsters desperately want a park and have raised £8,000 so far.
The park would cost a minimum of £15,000.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm in the town council chamber.
