Ref. 30790-54BABIES and toddlers have been making a splash for charity.
About 25 children, some as young as three months old, took to the water at the Health Hydro in Milton Road to raise cash for baby charity Tommy's.
The charity funds a programme of research and education aimed at preventing premature birth, miscarriage and still birth.
Parents and babies were invited to sign up for the Splashathon and raise money through sponsorship from family and friends.
Lucy Garland, 27, of Wood Hall Park, took part with her 16-month-old daughter Millie.
"It was great fun," she said. "Parents and babies alike seemed to have a good time and it was a great way to raise money for Tommy's, especially when it's so hot outside."
The Health Hydro has been running the Splashathon for more than five years.
It is a national event with babies and toddlers encouraged to take part in swimming pools or their baths at home.
In exchange for raising a minimum of £25 sponsorship money, each child receives free toys and swim nappies.
