AN EXHIBITION aimed at identifying empty homes in Swindon will be held on June 22.
Swindon Borough Council, together with Swindon Empty Homes Partner-ship, has organised the annual Residential Lettings/Empty Homes Exhibition at The Pilgrim Centre in Regent Circus.
As part of the National Week of Action on Empty Homes, the council is also running an Empty Homes Alert competition in which members of the public are invited to identify empty properties in the town.
The exhibition is a drop-in event and will be open to visitors from noon to 2pm and 4pm to 6pm in the Activity Room.
The event is aimed primarily at owners of empty properties in the private sector and visitors can get free advice on a range of topics linked to letting property.
On the same day, a meeting of the Private Sector Accommodation Group, which has been established to improve links across the borough, will take place in the Worship Area of The Pilgrim Centre from 2pm to 4pm.
The group works to raise standards and increase the number of properties in the private rented sector.
Bernie Brannan, director of housing, said: "Swindon Borough Council is committed to the Empty Homes initiative. There were 45 empty homes brought back into use last year and 401 households placed in private sector tenancies."
