PREPARATIONS for next month's strawberry fayre in Crudwell are well under way but volunteers are still needed to help out.
More than 2,000 portions of strawberries are dished out on the village green during the two-day event, planned for July 10 and 11.
Co-ordinator Judith White said this year's would be the biggest yet and is hoping for the good weather that made last year's fayre such a success.
She said: "We have a group of Malmesbury 20-year-olds who have formed a jazz band for Jazz on the Green.
"In the church we hope to have a big display with the millennium book of all the family names who were in the village at the time."
But more people are needed to help out.
Head of catering Jane Theyers said the event needed at least 56 people to cover the two days in jobs ranging from serving and washing up to hulling the strawberries. Volunteers will work one of four, two-hour shifts.
Anyone interested should phone Jane Theyers on (01666) 577896.
