SOUTH Wilts continued their climb up the ECB Southern Electric League Division One table with a comprehensive ten-wicket victory over basement boys Old Tauntonians & Romsey.
The win was the Salisbury side's third on the bounce and moves them up to fifth place ahead of Saturday's trip to new leaders Havant.
South African paceman Alan Kruger picked up a wicket in the opening over of the contest at Wilton Road and others swiftly followed.
OTs were in dire straits at 25-5, unable to cope with the pace of the overseas player or with that of rising star Lysander Wolf.
Max Smith, 40, and Faisal Iqbal, 20, offered some respite, but the visitors were all back in the pavilion for just 87.
Jason Laney, 54 not out, and Eddie Abel, 33 not out, ensured a ten-wicket success and a maximum 24-point haul.
There was to be no cup joy however for South Wilts when they visited Andover on Tuesday evening for their SEC Cup second round tie.
Chasing Andover's 119-8, the Salisbury outfit finished just two runs short on 117-6. They needed a boundary off the last ball of the game but only managed two runs.
