GAZETTE & HERALD: Youngsters are being encouraged to enter a design a T-shirt competition to promote an after-school club at Calne library.

The T-shirts will be used to promote Infozone, which provides after-school learning support for children and young people aged nine to 16 in the Melksham and Calne areas.

The after-school groups have dedicated members of staff who are able to help children and young people with homework and learning.

There are currently 632 young people registered with the Calne Infozone.

A Wiltshire County Council spokesman said: "Help is given in a wide variety of ways for example finding information using the internet, books, magazines and other resources, writing essays, stories and poems, designing projects, making presentations and using computers."

Infozones are open to anyone aged nine to 16, and offer free internet access, use of word processing programmes, photocopying and printing.

Entrants will be asked to use their creative skills to produce an eye-catching design to go on a promotional T-shirt. The T-shirt design must use the word Infozone.

Prizes will be awarded for best three designs from each library and the winners will also receive a copy of the T-shirt featuring their design.

The closing date for entries is Saturday, July 3.
