GAZETTE & HERALD: After two years of busy fundraising Calne Scouts have raised enough money to buy a new minibus.
The 1st Calne Scout Group and the associated fundraising committee have also been collecting money to improve the Scout hall and its facilities.
Fundraising events included jumble sales and a Christmas bazaar. The Scouts have also run barbecues at local events including the duck race, carnival and Christmas lights switch on.
The money raised has been spent on a 14-seat minibus. A new heating and hot water system is also due to be installed in the Scout hall this summer.
The group is continuing to look at improvements to the hall and is now focusing on raising funds to replace the windows. Scout spokesman Brian Lovelock said: "The committee and the group leaders and all the boys would like to thank the organisations and townspeople of Calne for their support at the fundraising events."
