THE work of Devizes Hospital League of Friends was highlighted at its annual fete on Saturday.
The fine weather brought more than 200 people to the fete, which raised about £500 for League of Friends.
The fete was held in the grounds of Devizes Hospital and started with a performance by the Devizes Dazzlers baton twirling group.
Members of DASH2 (Devizes Action to Save Our Hospital) had a display and Devizes Hospital Radio provided music.
The League of Friends was set up in 1988 and in the past ten years has raised £37,307 for hospital equipment.
This year the friends bought a Nisen endoscope machine, enabling outpatients to be seen at Devizes Hospital rather than having to travel to the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
Barbara Glendinning, secretary of the League of Friends, said: "We were very pleased with the number of people who attended the fete and showed support for the League of Friends and the hospital.
"Staff who were not on duty at the hospital came along and helped run the stalls."
The League of Friends has launched a corporate sponsorship scheme through which businesses can become a member for £50. For more information e-mail chas.davis@virgin.net
The league is encouraging the public to attend its annual general meeting on June 23 at the Cheese Hall in Devizes Town Hall at 7.30pm.
