Ref. 30819-04FOOTBALL FEVER: Kate Cady will find out today whether she will have the chance to cheer on England in Portugal, courtesy of Radio 1.
Kate, 25, from West Swin-don, correctly guessed that Swindon was the secret location where Aled Jones, DJ Chris Moyles' undercover sidekick, had travelled.
This morning she battled it out with 19 other winners of the Where's Aled? Contest, in a bid to win a fortnight in Portugal to watch England play in Euro 2004.
She said: "This is so manic, I can't believe it. I'm a big football fan so I would love to go to Portugal."
The sports therapy lecturer at Swindon College spent last night at the Marriott Hotel in London, ready to take part in the play-offs, which were broadcast live from Gatwick Airport.
Aled visited 17 towns and cities across the country to find the contestants for the final. Swindon was the last town he chose and he stayed in the Hilton Hotel, in Lydiard Fields, on Tuesday night.
He said: "Some of the staff recognised me, so we had to make sure they didn't follow us in the morning."
He drove to the Oasis Leisure Centre, in North Star, where around 40 Radio 1 listeners flocked to find him.
To win a place in the final they needed to give the correct password John Terry's hamstring which was announced earlier on show.
