SORRY about Old Town having a later mail delivery but at least that is better than the first class letter posted in Swindon on May 12 time unknown which arrived at my Swindon home mid morning on May 22.
Alas, it had no postcode but surely that wasn't the only reason I told myself.
I phoned customer services and someone called Marianne told me letters could be withheld for ten days if the postcode was left off the address.
After ten days it was considered lost mail.
I have a Royal Mail Group book dated April 2004 and nowhere can I find this no postcode, no delivery stipulation.
By the way, according to the said book addresses should not have a full stop after the name, or commas after each line and definitely not after the postcode so all that we were taught all those years ago is now obsolete.
