GAZETTE & HERALD: A judge has issued a warrant for the arrest and detention of 39-year-old Jayne Knight who stole a pension book and used it to get cash.
Knight failed to turn up at Swindon Crown Court to face sentencing for the matter which took place in Chippenham almost four years ago.
Knight stole the industrial injuries benefit book from Olwen Trefor-Roberts during the last two weeks of October 2000, the court was told.
She then cashed it four times at the Lowden Post Office in Chippenham during the following two months.
On the first occasion Knight took £43.72 to which she was not entitled and on the following three trips she received payments of £21.86 each time.
However on the fifth attempt to get money from the post office she was caught and later arrested.
Knight, of Timbrell Street, Trowbridge, had already pleaded guilty to one count of theft, four of deception and one of attempted deception.
Last summer another warrant was issued for her arrest when she failed to turn up at court to face the charges.
Knight was due at the crown court in July but failed to attend for medical reasons. The case was adjourned for her to attend with a medical certificate but she still failed to appear.
She was finally brought before the court after being arrested on a warrant issued by a judge and entered her pleas, after which she was released on bail.
However she again failed to turn up and the judge issued the present warrant.
