28337/2PUPILS from Westbury Infants School were encouraged to clown around on Tuesday as they were held spellbound by entertainers from Arnett and Paulo's circus.
Plummy the clown was joined by performer Ivan to show the children what it is like to be part of a circus.
Plummy amused the whole school, over 220 pupils, with tricks and jokes while Ivan performed his unsupported ladder act, which included juggling.
Teacher Patricia Menheneott said: "It was an educational visit as well as fun for the children because it gave them the chance to learn about another profession.
"The children now know that being a clown is a job and is as important as people who are involved in other careers. Clowns have to wear a uniform just like anyone else.
"It was great fun as well and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely, even the teachers."
The circus came to Trowbridge on Tuesday night with its last performance on Saturday. For tickets, call the booking line on 0702 1125454.
