BIDDESTONE maintained their 100 per cent record in their first season in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Division Two with a six wicket away win over Wootton Bassett.
Biddestone have now won all five matches this season and top the table after winning promotion from the Wiltshire League last season.
Bassett were restricted to a modest total of 141 for nine in their 45 overs, with the Biddestone bowling honours shared by Michael Lodder, 3 for 36, Dwaine Perry, 2 for 38, and Mark Unwin, 2 for 23.
The villagers looked in trouble at 30 for 3, with top scorer for the season Michael Lodder gone for a duck, but Dwaine Perry (68 not out) and Phil Boore (33 not out) turned the innings.
Biddestone 2nds fell to their first defeat of the season against a very strong Redmarley side.
Batting first, Biddestone reached a modest 137 for 8. Mike Tasker, with 35 not out, top scored and although support came from Sam Thornton (22) and Kris Boulton (29), none of the top order batsmen went on to make a big score.
Redmarley reached their total with some excellent batting and, despite two late wickets from Kris Boulton, reached the total with 10 overs to spare.
