D-DAY MEMORIES: RESIDENTS of a Trowbridge retirement development have got a lasting memorial to
D-Day after an arbour was dedicated to the heroes of the landings on Friday.
Around 60 people, including war veterans and town mayor Grace Hill, attended the ceremony at Regal Court, which was conducted by Canon Christopher Brown.
People from the development in Bythesea Road will be able to enjoy sitting out in the shelter, donated by
developer McCarthy and Stone, which has a plaque that reads: "In memory of those who gave their all to liberate Europe 1944-1945, remember them with pride."
Paul Davies, of McCarthy and Stone, said: "The arbour will be there for them to enjoy all the time and to remember the events of D-Day."
