WORK has begun on a new advice and support centre for people affected by cancer.
Builders have moved into Warminster Library to refurbish an area for the new Cancer Information and Support Service (CISS). The centre will open next month and will provide cancer advice to patients, carers and professionals.
Visitors will have access to a range of information including books, leaflets, videos, audiotapes and the internet.
Centre manager Lorraine Painter, said: "We are aiming to provide people with a friendly place they can drop into without an appointment to find out more about cancer.
"We will have a range of material available covering all aspects of the disease, that people will be able to take away with them. There will also be a quiet room where people can discuss any questions."
The CISS is a partnership between Wiltshire County Council, Macmillan Cancer Relief and West Wiltshire Primary Care Trust.
