ST MARGARET; CON HOLD: The Tories strolled their way to victory in the St Margaret Ward after Ray Fisher took more than 50 per cent of the vote.
Mr Fisher took more than both rival candidates combined, taking just under 54 per cent of the vote, while Labour's Michael Spry took more than 26 per cent and David Payne took the remaining 18 per cent.
Mr Fisher said: "I took over during a by-election last year, so I already have some experience as a borough councillor.
"I will be working towards sorting out crime and disorder as well as civil disobedience. We will now move forward and make improvements.
Just over 2,400 of the ward's electorate of 7,605 cast their vote.
Coun Fisher said: "I am very pleased with the turnout and I certainly feel the fact that the European voting was being held at the same time has made a big difference to its size."
