HAYDON WICK; CON HOLD:Haydon Wick remains represented by three Conservative councillors this morning.
Wayne Lawley won with 54 per cent of the vote, leaving Labour (24 per cent) and the Lib Dems (20 per cent) trailing well behind.
The result was never in serious doubt, but enough interest was sustained to keep the turnout up to last year's Swindon-wide average.
Haydon Wick, a rapidly expanding area of North Swindon, is a Tory stronghold, along with neighbouring ward Abbey Meads.
Mr Lawley has pledged to take strong action on local crime, deliver improvements in social services, drive down council tax and launch a fight against litter. He will set up monthly surgeries to listen to residents' concerns and has said he will always be available to hear their views.
