DORCAN; CON HOLD: IT was second time lucky this year for Conservative Roderick Bluh.
He was beaten by Labour in January's Central ward election by Labour's Sinead Darker, but last night prevented former Labour mayor David Cox from achieving his party's aim of snatching a Dorcan seat.
And if there was one issue mentioned to Coun Bluh on the hustings time and time again, it was law and order.
He said: "We have engaged with the electorate on the doorstep and we have talked about the issues.
"One of the issues mentioned by many people was law and order, and especially anti-social behaviour.
"There are people who are suffering because of this every day, and it is not acceptable.
"In anticipation of this result, I have been consulting with the relevant authorities to make sure the right things are done to address these problems."
