MORE and more people in Swindon are getting into serious debt, Michael Wills, the MP for North Swindon, has warned.
In the past year the town's two citizens' advice offices have dealt with more than 3,000 people in debt who, between them, owe £3.25million.
The North Swindon Citizens' Advice Bureau reported that 35 per cent of the people it sees want help with financial problems.
Mr Wills said: "Debt can devastate people's lives, putting terrible strains on relationships and health.
"I would like everyone to be more aware of the help that is available."
