OLD Town Festival organisers are urging music and theatre lovers to get their tickets for some of the events taking place between June 22 and July 4.
As well as the main events on the Lawn and in the Old Town Gardens on the weekend of July 3 and 4 there will be more than 20 events ranging from jazz performances, quizzes, dance displays and choirs.
This year's festival is incorporating the Swindon Jazz Festival, providing music lovers with more than a dozen different performances, many of which can be attended with a Jazzer ticket priced £20.
Tickets for events including the Thamesdown Transport Centenary talk by festival chairman Neil Butters; a barn dance/ceilidh; and Tanwood School of Performing Arts 60th anniversary review are available from the office now.
The festival's programme is due to go on sale next week, from the office in the premises of the former Victoria bookshop in Wood Street and Howell's Furniture Shop in Devizes Road.
Meanwhile youngsters under 16 are being urged to take part in a Pop Idol competition, on Wednesday, June 30 at 7pm at Commonweal School. Entry is £2 with backing music required. For more information call 01793 642368
Anyone who would like a stall on the Lawn or the Town Gardens on July 3 and 4 should call Bill Gibb on 01793 695548.
